RIOT CONTROL TRAINING AT BATTALION TRAINING SCHOOL - PUNANI, SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED WITH EXCELLENCE

Under the Guidance and direction of the Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - (East) Major General JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc the Riot Control Training was successfully conducted at the Battalion Training School - Punani from 01 to 27 September 2025.

The Training was designed to enhance the professional knowledge and practical skills of officers and soldiers in managing riot and crowd control operations. Training covered both theoretical instruction and hands-on exercises, aligning with current internal security requirements.

A total of 19 Officers and 570 Other Ranks from battalions under Security Forces Headquarters -(East) actively participated in four intensive training sessions, promoting interoperability and mission readiness across units.

The Closing Ceremony, held on 27 September 2025, was graced by Commander Security Forces Headquarters - (East), as the Chief Guest. He praised the participants’ discipline and commitment, and commended the Commandant, instructors, and staff of Battalion Training School - Punani for maintaining exemplary training standards.

Also in attendance was General Officer Commanding 23 Division, adding further prestige to the event.
