“A soldier is the nation’s last line of defence; their strength, fitness and health are their weapons.”
With this concept in focus, a new fully-equipped Gymnasium, identified as an essential facility to enhance the physical fitness and well-being of Officers and Other Ranks serving at the 24 Infantry Division Headquarters, was constructed under the guidance and initiative of the General Officer Commanding.
The newly constructed Gymnasium was declared open for use by all ranks on 02 April 2026 at 0930 hrs by the General Officer Commanding, Major General WMNKD Bandara RWP RSP USP ndupsc.
The occasion was attended by the General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division, the Deputy General Officer Commanding, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Coordination, Colonel Coordination (Volunteer), Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.
The event was conducted in a formal and ceremonious manner and concluded successfully.
