Newly Promoted Commander 221 Infantry Brigade Honoured at 221 Infantry Brigade Headquarters

In a proud moment for the 221 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier E W R S B Ehelepola USP USACGSC, recently promoted to the rank of Brigadier, was ceremonially honoured at the Brigade Headquarters in Kuchchaveli on 14 August 2025.

The proceedings commenced with a ceremonial Guard Turnout, signifying the deep respect and recognition of his dedicated service and exemplary leadership. To mark the occasion, Brigadier Ehelepola planted a sapling within the Brigade premises, symbolising growth, commitment, and the enduring legacy of the formation.

Addressing all ranks, Brigadier Ehelepola conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to all who had supported him throughout his career and shared valuable lessons gained during his years of service in the Sri Lanka Army. His address inspired the troops, emphasizing the importance of unity, professionalism, and continuous learning in achieving excellence.The day’s events concluded with an All Ranks Tea Party, fostering camaraderie among officers, other ranks, and civil staff of the Brigade.
