DISCUSSION ON SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS IN THE NORTH CENTRAL AND EASTERN PROVINCES FOR THE UPCOMING FESTIVE SEASON

A discussion on security arrangements for the upcoming festive season in the North Central and Eastern Provinces was held on 19 December 2025 at the Security Forces Headquarters (East), chaired by Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura, RWP, RSP, ndu, psc, Commander, Security Forces (East).

The discussion focused on measures to ensure the security and safety of the general public, while also reviewing the prevailing adverse weather conditions and strengthening coordination of ongoing disaster relief operations in the affected areas.

Senior officers from the Tri-Forces and the Sri Lanka Police participated in the discussion, covering all four districts. The attendees included the Commanding Officer of Naval Base Camp Deegayu, officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force, and senior police officers, notably the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for Polonnaruwa District.
