CONSTRUCTED AND HANDED OVER A NEW HOUSE TO A LOW- INCOME FAMILY

Under the guidance of the commander Security Force (East) Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, and the project was coordinated by Maj Gen HDLS Perera RWP RSP ndc General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division, Close supervision of the Commander 221 Infantry Brigade, a new house was constructed and officially handed over to Mr. B H Prasad Nadeeshan and his family at Trincomalee.

As part of the civil - military coordination program in the Eastern Theatre, this initiative aims to uplift and support low income families in the Region. The project was primarily executed by the Commanding Officer and subordinate troops of the 2(V) Battalion the Gajaba Regiment.

The construction materials and household furnishing for this valuable housing project were generously sponsored by Mrs Nanda Rathnayaka and her family wholehearted support and contribution were instrumental in making this initiative a success.

Deputy General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division,Maj Gen SAUA Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance were the Maj Gen PAM Peris (Retd), Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, along with other senior officers, officers and troops of the 22 Infantry division.

The house was officially handed over to the beneficiary on 23 August 2025 during a special ceremony.
