CONDUCT OUT BOARD MOTOR (OBM) TRAINING

According to the direction of the Commander 24 Infantry Division, Major General WLAC Perera RWP RSP USP, a one day specialized out board motor (OBM) training conducted ,on 12 November 2024 at Ouluvil harbor. There were 08 Officers and 32 Other Ranks participated from 24 Infantry Division.

This training program was conducted by Sri Lanka Navy, and this workshop mainly focus on improving the skills of Search and Rescue Teams (SAR Teams) in 24 Infantry Division AOR, prepare for upcoming monsoon period . This was one-day program in structured as both theoretical sessions and practical exercises regarding the OBM mechanics, trouble shooting and handling techniques in a range of water conditions.

As well as the Sri Lanka Navy’s experienced instructors led the sessions, providing to Army personnel with insights gained from they are extensive experience in maritime operations. Emphasis was placed on safe and effective navigation practices, as well as adaptability in different water environments.
