In commemoration of the 76th Army Day, and under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces – (East), a special event was successfully organized by the 12 Battalion, Sri Lanka National Guard on 09 October 2025 at GTMS Kalkuda, Eralakkulam.
As part of this community assistance programme, school books, school bags, and nutritious lunch packs were distributed to the students of GTMS Kalkuda, with the generous sponsorship of the Lions Club, Batticaloa. The event aimed to uplift the welfare of school children and strengthen the relationship between the military and the local community.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Major General G P P Kulathilaka ndc - General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, He was accompanied by Colonel TDK Darmasena RWP RSP, Commander 232 Infantry Brigade along with Commanding Officer 12 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard.
The event concluded successfully, fulfilling its objective of enhancing civil-military relations and reaffirming the Army’s dedication to national service and social development.
