COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) VISITS 8, 11, AND 16 SRI LANKA NATIONAL GUARD BATTALIONS

Commander Security Forces (East) and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard, Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, paid his first official visit to the 8, 11, and 16 Battalions of the Sri Lanka National Guard on 21 July 2025.

Upon arrival, he was warmly received by the Commanding Officers of the battalions and was honored with a Guard Turnout at the entrance. As part of the welcome proceedings, the Commander planted trees at each battalion headquarters, symbolizing growth and sustainability, and posed for group photographs with the officers of the respective battalions.

The visit continued with comprehensive operational and administrative briefings delivered by the Commanding Officers, providing insights into ongoing operations, administration, and welfare processes in the battalions. Before departing, Major General Janaka Pallekumbura penned his thoughts and remarks in the visitors' books of the three battalions, expressing his appreciation for the efforts and dedication of the logistics teams.

In addition, the Commander addressed the troops serving under the three battalions separately, offering encouragement and commendation for their continued service. Brigadier Volunteer Coordinator, Security Forces (East), was also present during the visit, along with other senior officers from Security Forces (East).
