COMMANDER OF 222 INFANTRY BRIGADE PROMOTED TO RANK OF BRIGADIER

Brigadier W P K Senerath RWP RSP USP IG, Commander of the 222 Infantry Brigade, was recently promoted to the rank of Brigadier and honoured at the 222 Infantry Brigade Headquarters.

On arrival at the Brigade premises, the senior officer was accorded a formal Guard Turnout by troops of the 222 Infantry Brigade Headquarters together with under-command battalions, 9 VIR and 5 (V) SLA. He was warmly received by Officers and Other Ranks.

Thereafter, Brigadier W P K Senerath addressed the troops of the 222 Infantry Brigade and under-command battalions, sharing his vision for the future while emphasizing the effective utilization of manpower, resources and the environment.

To mark the occasion, the senior officer planted a sapling at the Brigade Headquarters premises. The day’s programme culminated with an All Ranks tea party.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 222 Infantry Brigade conveyed their best wishes to the newly-promoted Brigadier on his assumption of duties and future endeavours.
