The Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, conducted a series of inspection and camp visits to formations and units under command on 23 January 2026.
During the programme, the Commander visited Logistics Command (East), 231 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, and several camps located within the area of responsibility of Security Forces Headquarters (East). The visit also included inspections of the Virukekulu Army Pre-School, Minneriya, Army Hospital Minneriya, Infantry Training School Minneriya, and other key installations.
While inspecting the camps and establishments, the Commander reviewed the administrative standards, operational readiness, training activities, and welfare facilities of troops. Special attention was paid to the welfare requirements of officers and other ranks, and necessary instructions were issued to senior officers to promptly address identified shortcomings and challenges.
The Commander, Logistics Command (East), the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, along with senior officers, officers, and other ranks including senior NCOs, were present during the inspection visits.
