As part of ongoing civil-military coordination efforts in the Trincomalee District, the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment conducted a comprehensive cleaning programme at the Base Hospital Pulmudai. This community-focused initiative was carried out under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division.
The programme was implemented as a part of the broader concept initiated by the Commander of the 221 Infantry Brigade to foster stronger civil-military relations and contribute to public well-being.
Coordinated in collaboration with the hospital staff and local civilians, the event saw the active participation of 25 troops from the 20th Battalion. The collective effort aimed to improve the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the hospital premises, enhancing the environment for patients and staff alike.
This initiative reflects the Sri Lanka Army's ongoing commitment to supporting community development and strengthening ties with local institutions through meaningful engagement.
