The finals of Inter Regiment Wushu Championship - 2016, held at Gymnasium of Army Cantonment, Panagoda on 31st March 2107.
Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Wushu players won the overall Men\'s Championship by beating 11 Regiments.
Major General M H P Mihindukulasuriya USP psc Lsc, Colonel Commandant - RHQ SLAGSC as the Chief Guest gave away the trophies.

Sinha Seva Vanitha Branch in collaboration with Headquarter battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment contributed to the successful Vesak Ceremony on 10th May 2017 with organizing a Common Gram Dansel at the Keenadeniya Junction, Ambepussa.

The Regimental centre SLSR organized a Spiritual fitness & meditation programme at the main auditorium of the Regimental Centre on 17th May 2017.
Ven. Diyasenpura Wimala Thero, the main instructor of Nagananda International Buddhist University and Main Patron of Baunseth Mental Relief Center conducted the programme.

Major General D C Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc who promoted to the rank of Major General after rendering a valuable service to the Sri Lanka Army as well as to the motherland was felicitated at the Regimental Centre of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Ambepussa on 27th May 2017.After the guard turn out & guard of honour, Maj Gen Keppetiwalana participated for the tea party organized by the Warrant Officers Sergeants' Mess and planted a sapling to mark the occasion.The day\'s event also textured with the Farewell Lunch hosted in honour of the newly promoted Major General by all Officers of the Regiment at the Officers\' Mess.

Marking another special day in Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment The Wild Life Resource Conservation donated four months old African lion cub born at Hambantota, titled as the \"3rd Mascot of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment\" to the Colonel of the Regiment Major General Boniface Perera by the Deputy Minister of Wild Life Resource Conservation Mrs. Sumedha G Jayasena at Dehiwala Zoo on 10th August 2017 in a festival manner. To celebrate this event the Director of Dehiwala Zoo Mrs Malsiya, Former Center Commandant of Sinha Regiment Brigadier Lalith Ratnayake, Present Center Commandant Brigadier Kithsiri Liyanage and other distinguished guests took part in the event and also connected to the event the newly constructed Lion Den for the new lion cub at the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was declared open by the Colonel of the Regiment.

In recognition of the unblemished service rendered to the motherland, His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena awarded special Presidents Truncheon and Regimental Truncheon to the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 30 Monday, January 2017.
Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment being a proud bearer of a 60 year-long legacy has executed the national responsibility of protecting the motherland and its people. During the thirty year battle, 3, 862 Sinha heroes have shed their young lives for the integrity of the motherland. This ultimate sacrifice bears ample testimony to the exemplary nature and selflessness of the Sinha Regiment.

Sinha Seva Vanitha branch made a donation to 34 children of Sinha Regimental members who were affected by flood in Rathnapura, Kegalle, Colombo, Kaluthara, Galle and Matara district. Donation worth Rs. 186410.00 includes books, School uniforms, School bag, Vouchers for shoes and electric irons.
First Stage of the donation was carried out on 02/07/2017 at Regimental Centre Gamunu Watch at Kuruwita by Sinha Seva Vanitha Senior member Mrs. Indika Senavirathna and all Sinha Seva Vanitha members.
The Second stage at the donation was carried out at 16th Gamunu Watch and 3rd Gamunu Watch Kalutara, Galle and Mathara District with the participation of Sinha Seva Vanitha President Mrs. Renuka Perera and other active Sinha Seva Vanitha Members.

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Wushu player S/371324 Corporal Gunasekara WL represented the 14th world Wushu Championship - Russia bagged a Bronze medal in the Men\'s \'Sanda\' event under 48 kg category showing his excellent performances at the Gymnastics Palace, Kazan, Russia during 29, September to 3, October 2017.
More than 300 competitors belonging to 39 different countries took part in the World Wushu Championships in Russia.

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment bid farewell to outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc on 2nd December 2017 who retired after serving more than 36 years in the regular force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held its customary way at Regimental Headquarters Ambepussa.
