On 26 September 2024, Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP ceremoniously assumed duties as 21st General Officer Commanding of the 58 Infantry Division at the Division headquarters in Puttalam Army Camp. The events commenced with a warm reception and formal inspection of Guard Turn out at the entrance of the camp. To mark this significant appointment, the troops of 1st Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment presented the vibrant Guard of Honour to Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP.

The South Asian Karate Championship took place in Bhutan on 18 and 19 July 2024. S/E101189 Cpl Sadaruwan WML – 5 (V) SLSR earned a Bronze Medal in the Under 50 KG Kumite event. Additionally, he was part of the team that secured a Bronze Medal in the Kumite Team event. The championship was organized by the South Asian Karate Do Federation.

Army Basic Staff Course got underway at the Army Command Collage, Nanjing, China from 4 March 2024 to 19 July 2024 and Major MKDPPK Kankanige RWP RSP USP psc SLSR was recognized as the Excellent Student Officer for his outstanding performance. Additionally, he received the Commandant's Honour for his exceptional presentation skills. The course saw participation from student officers representing 14 different countries.
