  • NEWLY APPOINTED CENTRE COMMANDANT TAKING OVER DUTIES

    Colonel A M K G P S K Abeysinghe assumed the duties as the 34th Centre Commandant on 3rd July 2020. He was warmly welcomed by Lt Col T G N De Silva Staff Officer (A) - RHQ SLAGSC and hounoured with the guard turnout presented by the troops of RHQ SLAGSC. Newly appointed Centre Commandant took over duties with the religious blessing. Later he attended a tea party with all ranks followed by an address to the same.

  • SLAGSC OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY FOR THE 3rd QUARTER - 2019

    The SLAGSC Officers' Training Day for the 3rd quarter of 2019 was conducted at RHQ SLAGSC, Panagoda on 25 September 2019 as per the directions of Army HQ. The training programme for the day commenced with physical training parade at 0600 hrs with the participation of approximately 130 x Senior Officers/Offrs which included Legal, Accounts, Agriculture and other professional category officers of SLAGSC.

  • SLAGSC LAUNCHED A REGIMENTAL MAGAZINE "ABHIMAN PIYAWARA"

    SLAGSC launched a Regimental Magazine "Abhiman Piyawara" reflecting 68 years of history and the achievements of the Regiment. Its first copy was officially handed over to Commander of the Army on 13 June 2019 at Commander's Office by Major General W R Palihakkara VSV USP, the Col Comdt, SLAGSC.

  • SLAGSC SENIOR NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS RECEIVE PROMOTIONS TO MARK THE VISIT BY COMMANDER OF THE ARMY TO THE REGIMENT

    A large number of Warrant Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers from Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps were promoted by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake on a request made by the acting Deputy Chief of Staff & Colonel Commandant, SLAGSC Maj Gen Vajira Palihakkara to mark the ceremonial visit by a Commander of the Army to the Regiment after a lapse of nearly 38 years.

    SLAGSC Avurudu Pola 2019 was organized under the instructions and direction of the DGFM, AHQ and Col Comdt SLAGSC Maj Gen W R Palihakkara USP to sell the products harvested from SLAGSC Farms and trade school kuttigala as a welfare project to the soldiers and families of SLAGSC, Offrs/Soldiers of other Regiments Located at the Army Cantonment - Panagoda at a concessionary rate in the festive season.

  • SLAGSC FOOTBALL TEAM ENTERED TO THE SEMIFINALS

    During the Inter Regiment Football Tournament 2018/2019 conducted by the Army football committee was held at SLAGSC Rugby Ground and Kelaniya Provincial Council Ground on 13 March 2019. SLAGSC have been under the Captaincy of S/101620 Private Fernando SRM of 6 SLAGSC (V) played numerous matches. In the first round of matches SLAGSC won against SLSC by 3-1, second match against SLLI won by 1-0, SLAC match was drawn by 0-0. Scoring 7 leading points in the "D" division SLAGSC got themselves through to the semifinals. In the semifinals they have emerged victorious defeating the Gamunu Watch by penalty shootout 3-2.

  • SLAGSC CONTRIBUTES MAJORITY OF PLAYERS TO THE ARMY RUGBY TEAM

    Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps managed to field 10 players from Regimental Rugger team for the Sri Lanka Army Rugger team in 2018/2019 Inter Club Dialog League Tournament. S/2O101668 Private Dikkumbura D G S G of SLAGSC became the key player of the Army team during this season. He scored 10 tries (08 tries in Dialog League & 02 tries in the Clifford Cup Tournament) and became the highest scorer for the Army. His outstanding performance has paved the way for him to the National pool.
