Brigadier Palitha Hewawasam Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps declared open the newly constructed accommodation building for women soldiers during his official visit to the Battalion Headquarters 2 (V) Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps on 11 March 2022.
The new accommodation facility which was constructed by the troops of 2 (V) SLAGSC under the supervision of Commanding Officer and with the logistic support of Regimental Headquarters, would benefit most of women soldiers serving in the battalion.
The visiting Colonel Commandant was extended a guard turnout by the troops of 2 (V) SLAGSC, and paid floral tributes to War Heroes' Monument. The event was followed by group photograph, troop address, appreciation and distribution of gifts for the troops involved in the construction work, camp visit, and planting a tree sapling.
All ranks of the battalion accompanied the Colonel Commandant during the tea party and shared their contentment on the special day.
