Offering Special Milk Tea Cups for Devotees at Nallur Festival

In alignment with the vision of the General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc a special community welfare initiative was conducted at Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, Jaffna with supporting of Pure Dale Ceylon Ltd and Rich life Diary Ltd on 20th, 21st and 22ndAugust 2025. The programme followed by a heart worming gesture of offering 51000 milk cups for devotees during the Nallur festival at Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, demonstrating the Sri Lanka Army’s commitment to social responsibility. The General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division, Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc graced those occasions as the chief guest with presence of senior Army Officers.

55 Infantry Division conducted a lecture on "Fire prevention and firefighting"

To enhance knowledge on fire prevention and firefighting among military personnel, an awareness lecture on the topic of “Fire prevention and Firefighting” was conducted under the directives of Major General W M A B Wijekoon USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division,at 551 Infantry Division Headquarters on 12 August 2025. The lecture was delivered by Major PDSM Wickramasinghe psc ato, 2 In Command, 6 SLAOC.

Taking the clean Voyage of unity - Clean Sri Lanka initiative in to another level, A Classical Music Therapy programme which was organized with the guidance of Presidential Secretariat had been conducted at the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) on August 13 and 14, 2025. The programme was conducted with the direct supervision of the Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc.

The Araly Point Monument in Kayts on Friday, 8 August 2025 recalled the undying memories of the country’s one of the finest legendary military leaders, Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP rcds psc and several other military war heroes who laid their lives in an LTTE landmine blast at Araly Point on 8 August 1992.

553 Infantry Brigade Marks Its 25th Anniversary

553 Infantry Brigade celebrated its 25th Anniversary on 19th July 2025 under the guidance of Colonel M P J Muthunayaka, Commander 553 Infantry Brigade. By giving prominence to religious observances, troops arranged a Hindu Kovil Puja program at Sri Sithi Vinayagar Hindu Kovil at Punnanirawi and a Bodi Puja Pinkama at the Camp premises, moreover conducted arms-giving ceremony for the Elders’ Home in Tharmapuram.

One of the most admired War Heroes in contemporary Sri Lanka, late Corporal Gamini Kularathna of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment who exactly 34 years ago laid his life for defence of Elephant Pass camp was recalled to memory in front of his statue at Elephant Pass premises during 14 July in fitting commemorative arrangements, organized by the 6 Battalion at Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
