Military Assistance to Renovate Road by Troops of 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment

Under the direction of Major General PR Pathiravithana USAWC psc, the General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division, and the supervision of Brigadier WKSPMRAB Dodamwela psc, the Commander of 522 Infantry Bridge, troops of 1 MIR contributed to repair a road running from Aliaweli to Kottanda Kulam in Iyakkachchi area on 29 November 2024.

Military Assistance to Renovate Road Bridge by Troops of 10 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment

Troops of 10 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment provided assistance in an emergency situation where main bridge connecting Pudukkadu to Maradankeini on Point Pedro, Vettalaikerni road which was severely eroded in the basement and threatened to be washed away due to prevailing adverse weather condition.

Defence Secretary Assesses Flood Relief Efforts in Jaffna and Kilinochchi

Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) WWV, RWP and two bars, RSP and bar, USP, MMSc (Strat Stu-China), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), fndu (China), psc, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence made an emergency visit to Jaffna and Kilinochchi Districts on 28 November 2024 to inspect and assess the disaster situation and relief efforts in the region.

Providing Assistance in an Emergency Situation by Troops of 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment

Troops of 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment provided assistance in an emergency situation where Palamkulam tank bund was threatened to be eroded due to prevailing adverse weather conditions. On the instruction given by the Commander 55 Infantry Division Major General B G S Fernanado USP Hdmc psc and direct supervision of the Commander 551 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment, 02 x 15 troops assisted in strengthening the Palamkulam tank bund by laying 300 x sandbags despite continuous heavy rains.
