The World Para Athletic Grand Prix sports competition held at New Delhi and Cpl Ekanayake KGG from Sri Lanka Light Infantry secured the silver medal in Javelin throw (men”s events) while an Indian player became the gold medalist. Cpl Ekanayake KGG was able to keep the lions flag high with his brilliant performance, Colonel of the Regiment and All Ranks wish him all the very best for his future endeavors.

Sri Lanka Light Infantry has achieved high level of sportsman not only at the defence games but also national level and internationally in present as well as during last number of decades. According to a concept of the Colonel of the Regiment and under the guidance of the Centre Commandant, a psychological motivational lecture was conducted for the members of sports teams to maintain the mental standards, enhance the endurance and maintain the mental stability. Further, it was discussed the future programmes of respective sports teams & individual players. The lecture was conducted by Captain O S K Rupashsri SLAGSC on 11 March 2025 at Regimental Centre, Panagoda with the participation of 216 players of Sri Lanka Light Infantry sports teams. Brig Anura Dodamwela psc, the Centre Commandant Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment and Senior Officers also attended for the lecture.
