  • A HELPING HAND FROM THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH TO COMPETE THE CONSTRUCTION PARTIALLY BUILD HOUSE

    Under the guidance and direction of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major General Y A B M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc and the Honourable Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Darshani Yahampath, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, in collaboration with its units, is implementing a programme to provide financial and labour assistance to complete the construction of partially build houses of currently serving Other Ranks and civilian employees of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment.

    In line with a concept of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc together with the Honourable President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Darshani Yahampath a humanitarian assistance programme was conducted for Sri Lanka Light Infantry war heroes who were adversely affected by inclement weather conditions.

  • VISIT TO MIHINDU SETH MEDURA – ATTIDIYA CONVALESCENT CARE CENTRE BY THE SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

    In accordance with the guidance of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, a visit was conducted to the Mihindu Seth Medura Attidiya Convalescent Care Centre on 12 December 2025 to inquire into the welfare of resident war heroes undergoing long-term medical treatment.

    In accordance with the guidance of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, a visit was conducted to the Mihindu Seth Medura Attidiya Convalescent Care Centre on 12 December 2025 to inquire into the welfare of resident war heroes undergoing long-term medical treatment.

  • A TIMELY SERMON FOR WAR HEROES AND THEIR FAMILIES

    In line with the noble initiative of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, together with the honorable President of the Seva Vanitha Branch Sri Lanka Light Infantry Mrs. Darshani Yahampath, a timely sermon was delivered on 25 November 2025 at the Sri Bodhirajarama Viharaya by Venerable Kagama Sirinanda Thero. The sermon aimed to address curtail family issues arise due to drugs, online gambling and social media related family issues which are the growing concerns in today’s society posing significant risks to the community well-being.

  • SLLI SEVA VANITHA REWARDS WAR HEROE AND CIVIL STAFF

    Under the guidance and direction of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment SLLI, Major General Y A B M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, and the Honorary President of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Darshani Yahampath a welfare programme is being initiated to uplift the living standards of the other ranks and civil staff servring in SLLI regiment, under the initiative a selected war heroe and civil staff members were provided financial assistance on 05 November 2025 at the Regimental Centre lecture hall, in line with the 144th Regimental Anniversary celebrations.

  • BLESSING CEREMONY FOR THE FALLEN, MISSING, AND INJURED WAR HEROES OF THE POONARYN DEFENSIVE OPERATION

    The 1st Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, which was established on 12 May 1950, was entrusted in 1993 with the responsibility of defending the Poonaryn Peninsula. At that time, the Commanding Officer was Major General TTR De Silva (Retd) RWP RSP USP psc, a distinguished senior officer.
