The Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a vibrant Farewell Ceremony and Dinner on 25 February 2026 in honour of Major General E N Kurukulasuriya RWP RSP psc, marking the conclusion of his distinguished military career spanning over 35 years.
The ceremony commenced with the Senior Officer paying a floral tribute at the War Heroes Monument. Upon his arrival at the main entrance, a Guard Turnout was accorded in his honour. Thereafter, he paid homage to the Founding Father of the Gajaba Regiment, the Late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc, by laying a floral tribute as a mark of deep respect and remembrance. The Senior Officer then proceeded to Group Photograph and sign the Visitor's Book followed by an All Ranks tea held to mark the occasion, signifying growth, legacy and camaraderie.
Later that evening, a Grand Farewell Dinner was held at the Officers' Mess of the Gajaba Regiment. This dignified event hosted by the Colonel of the Regiment Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, provided an opportunity for officers to express their gratitude and pay tribute to the legacy of Major General E N Kurukulasuriya RWP RSP psc, celebrating his leadership, service and achievements with deep respect.
