Major General M G W WW M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc of the Gajaba Regiment officially assumed duties as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army, the third most senior position in the organization, during a formal ceremony held on Thursday, 02 January 2025, at Army Headquarters.
The event was conducted with simplicity and significance, featuring blessings from religious leaders representing all faiths. Senior officers, staff members of the DCOS office, and other ranks gathered to witness this important milestone in the Army's leadership.
In his new role, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe undertakes the responsibilities of one of the Army’s most prestigious appointments. Prior to this, he served as the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, demonstrating exceptional leadership and operational expertise. In addition to his new role, he continues to serve as the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment, underscoring his deep-rooted commitment to the Army and its personnel.
