The Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a vibrant Farewell Parade and Dinner Night in honour of Major General I A N B Perera RWP USP ndu psc on 20 August 2024 on the eve of his retirement after counting over 35 years of illustrious and outstanding military career.
The day's ceremony commenced with a customary Guard Turnout, setting a solemn and respectful tone and that was followed by floral tribute at the statue of late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne. Thereafter, the retiring Veteran Keterian was honoured with a colorful parade held at the regimental parad ground, the meticulously organized parade highlighted the discipline and unity of the Gajaba Regiment, reflecting the high standards of the Regiment.
The day's series of events reached its peak with a grand farewell dinner night, organized under the guidance of the Commander of the Army and the Colonel of the Regiment Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu and.
it was graced by Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment and attended by members of the Regimental Council, Centre Commandant, gethering of senior officers, commanding officers, and all staff officers of the Regimental Headquarters, ensuring a memorable and dignified farewell for a distinguished leader.
