Newly Promoted Two Star Generals Felicitated at the Home of Gajaba

The Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a colourful felicitation ceremony honoring its three eminent military leaders on Friday (19) at the Home of Gajaba, who were recently promoted to the rank of Major General. They are, Major General R P A R P Rajapaksha RSP, Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, and Major General P K W W M J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc.

As the first segment of the ceremony, newly promoted Major Generals were honoured with separate Guard Turnouts on their arrival at the main entrance. Subsequently, they paid their profound tribute to the Founding Father of the Gajaba Regiment late Major General Vijaya Wimalarathne RWP RSP VSV USP psc by placing flower wreaths at his statue.

The solemnity of the occasion was further highlighted by dignified separate Guard of Honours awarded in respect the Senior Officers, demonstrating the highest military traditions upheld by the Gajaba Regiment. As the ceremony unfolded, an All Ranks Tea was held demonstrating the sense of solidarity among attendees, reflecting the close-knit bond within the regiment.

This ceremony not only celebrated the individual achievements of these Major Generals but also reaffirmed the regiment's steadfast commitment to excellence and unwavering service to the nation.
