The Defence attache of High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Colonel Muhammad Safdar Khan made a courtesy call on the Centre Commandant of the Gajaba Regimental Centre Brigadier Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP psc, at his office on 21 December 2020, the Defence attache conducted on a field visit to the exercise area of the bilateral exercise Shake Hands -1.
The exercise is scheduled to be held in the 1st week of March 2021, at Gajaba Regimental Centre, Saliyapura with the participation of Sri Lanka and Pakistan Army ,thus enhancing the long standing ties between two countries.
Upon arrival of the Defence Attache at the Commandants’ office he was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant and had a cordial discussion, subsequently, the Defence attache along with the Centre Commandant visited the “Training Enclave” area where the officers’ and soldiers of the Pakistan Army were planned to accommodate, at the Regimental Centre and Afterword, followed by a field visit to Nikawewa Air Mobile Training School, where the main exercises schedule to be held in March 2021.
On Tuesday (22) a WEBINAR Conference was held at the conference hall in Gajaba Regimental Centre with the participation of Steering Committee President Maj Gen Vikum Liyange RWP RSP ndu - GOC 21 Inf Div, Brigadier W S Ariyasinghe RSP - DG Inf, Brigadier Sanjaya Fernando RWP RSP ndu - Commandant ,IPSOT - SL, Brigadier Nishantha Jayasundara RSP USP - Commander 533 Inf Bde, Brigadier Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP psc - Centre Commandant, Colonel Sadar Khan, DA Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Colonel WSN Hemarathne RWP RSP psc - Commander 583 Inf Bde, Lt Col Jitendra Gunawardhana USP psc - CO 12 GR, Maj Sameera Ambagahaduwa RSP psc - CO 3 GR and Senior Officer’s of VIR Infantry Regiment also present for the conference.
During the WEBINAR, the views were exchanged between the members of both Countries on the successful conduct of this Bilateral exercise Ex - Shake Hands - 1.
Deputy Centre Commandant and all staff officers’ of the Regimental centre given their fullest support for the event success.
