NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERALS WERE HONOURED IN FELICITATION CEREMONY AT THE GAJABA REGIMENTAL CENTRE ON 20 SEPTEMBER 2019

The Gajaba Regiment hosted 'Felicitation Ceremony' to newly promoted Major General JMUD Jayasinghe and Major General AI Marasinghe RWP RSP with the directions of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army , Colonel of the Regiment the Gajaba Regiment and Special Forces Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc to congratulate in conformity with military traditions.

The newly promoted Two Star Generals were warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant Colonel Mahinda Rajapakshe RWP RSP USP on behalf of the Colonel of the Regiment, the Centre Commandant and All Ranks of the Gajaba Regiment greeted them by a 'Guard Turnout' ,Then paid tribute to the 'Father of the Gajaba Regiment' late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc, by placing a floral wreath at his statue. Then both Major Generals were honoured by the 'Guard of Honour' at the Parade Ground.

Reaching the climax of the day's programme, All Ranks tea hosted in honour of newly promoted Major Generals by all officers and other Ranks. Members of the Regimental Council ,Deputy Centre Commandant, , Senior Officers, Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were also present at the ceremony.
