Inter Regiment Practical Rifle Meet 2019

Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Practical Rifle Meet - 2019 prize giving was held at Diyatalawa Firing Range on 18 March 2019 in the presence of Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment as the Chief Guest.

The Gajaba Regiment won the Champions Trophy in NOVICES and the Runners up in OPEN. Apart from that, Brig NDSP Niunhella RWP RSP was the best officer from senior officers category. WO 2 Koswaththa MMN became best SNCO 2nd place & overall 2nd from open category. Pte Bandara AMR became a best private first place in novices. Cpl Pradeep Kumara MED & Pte Premathilake AHM won the trophies for shooting stages. L/Cpl Thusitha Kumara LWRN became the best L/Cpl in open category. Capt SADD Wimalasooriya best officer 3rd place in open category and Cpl Priyantha became the best Cpl 2nd place.

Maj Gen K P A Jayasekara WWV RSP USP ndc psc, Comd - SF (E) and Colonel of the Regiment- Gemunu Watch, Maj Gen W R P De Silva USP ndu IG, Comd - SF (Cen), Brig W H K S Peiris RWP RSP USP, the Regtl Centre Comdt - GR, Brig G M C K B Ekanayake WWV RWP RSP psc, Comdt - MSTS, several other Senior Officers and competitors/enthusiasts were also among the gathering.
