The Gajaba Regiment, being the foremost infantry fighting outfit of the Sri Lanka Army has completed 35 years of noble service to the nation and honorary celebrate its 35th remarkable anniversary in this year. To mark this significant event, anniversary dinner night and third consecutive Dinner dance has organized in grand level, first ever in Gajaba history and held on 20 December 2018 at Shangri – La hotel, Colombo
.The Gajaba Dinner Dance is one of the most glamorous events organized by the Gajaba Regiment annually. This significant event is being organised, with the intention of raising funds, the proceeds of which will be utilized towards the welfare of Officers, soldiers and differently abled soldiers as well as civilian personnel of the Gajaba Regiment
The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, and he was warmly welcomed and given grand reception by The Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc
Further, with the invitation of the The Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, former Colonel of the Regiments, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Deputy Chief of the Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, Leading recognized personalities in different fields, Council Members of the Gajaba Regiment and Officers from other regiments also attended the occasion
Moreover, The Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre, The Gajaba Regiment Brigadier Harendra Peiris RWP RSP USP with many Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and Officers also participated to the grand ceremony
