The newly-constructed Holiday Home for the Gajaba Veterans at Regimental Centre was Inaugurated by Leiutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka National Guard on Sunday (28) at the invitation of the president Gajaba Veterans Association Leuitenent Colonel Deepal Subhasinghe.
On arrival at the location the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by The Chairmen of Gajaba Veterans Association Lieutenant Colonel Deepal Subasinghe. Afterwhile the Army Chief unveiled the opening plaque and vested the Holiday Bungalow with Veteran Keterians.
Leuitenent General Jagath Dias (Retd), Major General Nisshanka Ranawana (Rtd) and retired Senor Officers, Officers and many number of Other Rank Keterians were present at this ceremony.
This ceremony was coincided with the Annual General Meeting of the Gajaba Veterans association. Following the auspicious opening of the newly constructed Holiday Bungalow, the Army Chief attended the 19 Anual General Meeting of the Gajaba Veterans Association held at the same venue and where he did not forget to address all the veteran Keterians who attended the event
A Holiday Bungalow for the Veteran Keterians was a long-felt need and it became a reality today. This Holiday Bungalow consists of 3 rooms with all modern furniture and facilities.
Major General Champaka Ranasinghe Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe Adjutant General (AHQ), Major General Sanjeewa Fernando General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division, Centre Commandant Brigadier Wishwajith Vidyananda and senior officers, officers, and staff of the Regimental Centre were present at the ceremony.
