Three More Veteran Keterians Were Honoured at Home of Gajaba on Their Retirement

A colourful farewell ceremony was held at the Home of Gajaba on 07 July 2024 to honour three distinguished Senior Officers: Major General S B Amunugama RWP RSP ndu, Brigadier T S Balasuriya and Brigadier W M S N Eragoda RWP RSP USP. The day's events commenced with Separate Guard Turnouts awarded to each senior officers and that was followed by Floral Tributes to the statue of late Maj Gen Vijaya Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc, the Founding Father of the Gajaba Regiment.

Thereafter, all the retiring Senior Officers were honoured with separate Ceremonial Parades, giving them the utmost respect and the admiration of their dedicated and outstanding service rendered to the Gajaba Regiment. Following the parades, the retiring Keterians and all Officers posed for a group photograph to signify this memorable day. After that, an All Ranks tea was held at the Other Ranks’ Mess where the retiring senior Officer had a cordial interaction with all those who were present at the tea party.

At the culmination of series of farewell events a colourful Farewell Dinner Night was hosted at the Officers’ Mess where senior officers colleagues and gathering of junior officers gathered with their spouses to pay their respect and honour to the retiring Veterant Keterians who have untiringly dedicated themselves for the betterment of the Gajaba Regiment. The Farewell Dinner provided a fitting end to the day's events, marking the transition of these officers from their active roles while recognizing their lasting impact on the regiment.
