THREE MORE RETIRED DISTINGUISHED KETERIANS WERE HONOURED IN A FAREWELL SALUTE AT THE HOME OF GAJABA

The Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a colorful farewell parade to its proud sons of Major General Champaka Ranasinghe (Rtd) RWP RSP, the former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Brigadier Janaka Udowita (Rtd) RWP RSP the former Commander of the 121 Infantry Brigade and Brigadier Janaka Withanachchi (Rtd) RWP USP the former Director, Management and Maintenance at the Colombo Army Hospital on 03 November 2023. They took the Farewell Salute at the Home of Gajaba upon retirement from the service after outstanding and illustrious military careers spanning over three decades.

As per the guidance of Commander of the Army, Colonel of the Regiment of Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka National Guard, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu and under the close supervision of the Centre Commandant, Brigadier Wishwajith Vidyananda RWP RSP USP to coincide with the day’s ceremony was commenced with a customary Guard Turn out, Floral tribute to the founding father of Gajaba Regiment Major General Vijaya Wimalarathne followed by a colorful parade accorded in their respect.

Members of the Regimental Council, Centre Commandant, Deputy Centre Commandant, Senior Staff officers, Commanding Officers, some other officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Headquarters attended this ceremony.
