THREE MORE RETIRED DISTINGUISHED KETERIANS WERE HONOURED IN A FAREWELL SALUTE AT THE HOME OF GAJABA

The Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a colorful farewell parade to its proud sons of Major General Lal Wijethunga (Rtd) RWP RSP USP the former Overall Sy Coordinator to the Chief of Deffence Staff, Brigadier Nishantha Jayasundara (Rtd) RSP USP the former Director Project Monitoring under UDA and Brigadier Jude Perera (Rtd) RSP USP the former Director, Management and Maintenance, Army Hospital on21 January 2023. They took the Farewell Salute at the Home of Gajaba upon retirement from the service after outstanding and illustrious military careers spanning over three decades.

The day’s ceremony was commenced with a customary Guard Turn out, Floraltribute to the founding father of Gajaba Regiment Major General Vijaya Wimalarathne followed by a colorful parade accorded in their respect. The event was organized under the guidance of Commander of the Army and Colonel ofthe Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka National Guard, Lt Gen Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu. Later a colorful Farewell Dinner Night was hosted by the Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment in honour of these veterant members of this mighty Regiment.

Members of the Regimental Council, Centre Commandant, Deputy CentreCommandant, Senior Staff officers, Commanding Officers and some other officersof the Regimental Headquarters attended this ceremony.
