The Gajaba Regiment hosted felicitation to three of its most recently promoted senior officers, Maj Gen CD Ranasinghe RWP RSP, Maj Gen SMSPB Samarakoon RWP RSP, Maj Gen JDCG Jayasinghe KSV KSP. The Centre Commandant Brig Mahinda Rajapaksha RWP RSP USP on behalf of Chief of Defence Staff,Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment Gajaba and Special Forces, Lt Gen Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc warmly welcomed the senior officers on their arrival to the Gajaba Regimental Centre.
After being paid tribute to the fallen war heroes of the Gajaba Regiment by placing a floral wealth at the monument.Then they were separately awarded formal ” Guard Turnout “ and three separate ‘Guard of Honours’ keeping with Military formalities.
Bringing the first segment of the days proceedings to end they were invited for a special tea with all ranks at the Other Ranks Mess where days invitees had chance of sharing pleasantries and few thoughts with the gathering.
The days event culminated with a lunch hosted in honour of newly promoted two star Generals at the officers mess with the participation of many senior officers of the Keteriyans family.
