St. Anthony\'s College Kandy honours service of Major General S W L Daulagala
A felicitation ceremony at the prestigious St. Anthonys College in Kandy has been organized on 30 September 2014 in appreciating the illustrious service of the high ranking serving Officers whose successful foundation has been fine laid in late sixties.\r\n\r\nThe Chief Guest of the Ceremony was Major General Lalith Daulagala the Colonel of the Regiment Gajaba Regiment who is a proud product of St. Anthony\'s College. Four other senior Officers who are Old Boys of the College Major General K M U Wijerathne, Major General K C Gunawardena, Major General P W B Jayasundara and Major General M M Dias were felicitated at the Ceremony.\r\n\r\nThe Chief Guest and his Lady Mrs Saroja Daulagala were warmly welcomed by Rev Father Principal Hendry Wijerathna. Subsequently, National flag and School flag were hoisted and the dignitaries were accompanied in a colourful procession to a special dais where he was accorded by a guard of honour by the School Cadets. Afterwards, they were accompanied to the Main Hall where the day\'s proceedings were performed with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp.\r\n\r\nRev Father Principal Hendry Wijerathna while giving a brief introduction to the importance of the day, the most distinguished and respected personalities were introduced to the audience. During the speech, the exemplary services of these senior Officers were greatly admired. The Chief Guest Major General Lalith Daulagala delivered the speech.\r\n\r\nThe Rev Father Principal Hendry Wijerathna gave away plaques to the Chief Guest and the senior Officers in appreciation of their great service to the Nation. Eventually the day\'s proceedings were culminated with the National Anthem being recited.
