A glamorous episode of \"Scholarship Awarding Programme\" has inaugurated at the Gajaba Regiment Centre as per the guidance of Maj Gen GVDUA Perera RWP RSP VSV USP USAWC psc the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment. The Scholarships have been awarded to the children of Officers, Other Rankers and civil servants of the Gajaba Regiment who had died in action, ex military personals and serving personals.
The Chairman of the Gajaba Regiment Sewa Wanitha Branch, Mrs Telma Perera and the Deputy Chairman Mrs Reka Senadeera and all members contributed 24 scholarships for the programme. Apart from that the Col of the Regiment and all Officers of the Gajaba Regiment have sponsored for another 19 scholarships which came as finally 43 scholarships.
The children who have passed year 5 scholarship examination were awarded Rs 1000.00 and the children got through the GCE O/L examination were awarded Rs 1500.00 and the children selected for the university were awarded with Rs 5000.00. The cultural group of Gajaba Regiment displayed the magnificent eye-catching cultural show in presence of Chief Guest and other distinguish guest.
