As per the direction and guidance by Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment Gajaba Regiment Lt Gen Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, has initiated a mega project aiming Sapling of 20,000 in TJC mango plants at the Gajaba Farm Sinhapura, to mark the forthcoming 71 Army Anniversary, on 29 September 2020.
Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, visited the Sinhapura Farm and begin cultivation of 20,000 TJC Mango plants under four stages. As the first stage total of 5000 TJC mango plants were planted inside the allocated land patch of 100 acres.
In the same land, CDS and Commander of the Army symbolically started the renovation project of two manmade tanks inside the farm and they were named as 'Gajaba Wewa' and 'Sebala Wewa'.
Brigadier Mahinda Rajapaksha, Centre Commandant RHQ-GR, Senior Army officers, Commanding Officers of the Gajaba Regiment, Assistant Divisional Secretary for Padavi-Sripura, officials of the Irrigation Department, Land Department, local council and Mr. A Prageeth, Irrigation Engineer for the Region, Lieutenant Colonel D.A.P Dissanayake, Major A.M.C Gunasekara - Farm Officer Commanding, Senior officers,
the Irrigation Engineer Mr. A Prageeth and several other administrators attended for inauguration."
