Passing Out Parade of Recruit Course 61 In Gajaba Regimental Centre
The Recruits passing out parade of course No 61 (Regular) & course No 12(Volunteer) was held on 16th August 2014 at Gajaba Regimental Centre Saliyapura, Anuradapura. The 162 Recruits were attended for the passing out Parade as 97 and 65 volunteer respectively. This was conducted by Regimental Training Wing.
Lt Col TS Balasooriya to grace the occasion as Chief of the passing out parade the occasion as Chief Guest of passing out parade and addressed all newly passed out Recruits and their parents.
The Lt Col IP Jayarathne SO 1 (LOG) of RHQ GR accompanied with chief guest for the inspection of parade. Following Recruits were nominated as the best marksmanship S/78465 Bandara AGAD. The best physical recruit was S/2059647 Chularathne CRC and the all-round recruit was S/059618 Thushara WS received shields as best recruit by the chief guest at presentation ceremony. Subsequently Gajaba Regimental band with their rhythmic beats and associated formalities heralded the inauguration.
The parade commander was Maj LHWBI Silva RSP – Chief Instructor of training wing – RHQ GR commanded the parade, parade 2 IC was Capt BGSA Ashoka Kumara. After the parade, Regimental band display was conducted. Finally drill display and PT display were also presented by newly passed out recruits for their parents on the ground. A large gathering of Regimental Staff Officers and parents of recruits witnessed the day’s main highlights.
