Brigadier Mahinda Rajapshsa RWP RSP USP - Centre Commandant visited 10 GR and 8 GR on 30 June 2020. On arrival to the 10 GR, the Centre Commandant warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Major Sudeera Abenayake RSP and paid a customary guard turn out. After, the Commanding Officers' briefing, a host of issues came up for discussion, including matters pertaining to admin aspects, operational issues and welfare matters of the soldiers. Moreover, commandant emphasised the prevailing COVID 19 situation in the country. He not missed to thanks to all troops for their sacrifices and dedicated contribution to eradicated ongoing local and global fight against this deadly virus from the mother Land.
Further, he inspected camp premises and instructed to Commanding Officer to uplifted the infrastructures facilities and standards of the soldier's. Specially, discipline of the soldiers were highlighted in the course of his speech.
The days climax reached by the visiting 8 GR. On arrival of the Commandant being received by the CO - Lt Col Pradeep Gunathilaka RWP USP, after Drive Pass Guard Turn out. Further, he was briefed by the Commanding Officer and then he instructed to improve more facilities and standards of the battalion. More over, Commandant visited the camp premises and gave valuable ideas to uplifted of the battalion.
Later, he was spelt out to the troops on ongoing Local and Global fight against this deadly Virus and gave valuable instructions to make the battalion standards better. During the visit Commandant ceremonially opened the newly constructed Cpl’s Club and Officers’ Mess.
The Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre and Regimental Sargent Major also participated for the visit.
The days programmes were conducted adhering to health safety guidance and social distancing practices
