OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY PROGRAMME FOR THE GAJABA OFFICERS WAS SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED

The Officers’ Training Day Programme for the Gajaba Officers was successfully conducted at the Regimental Centre, Home of Gajaba, Saliyapura with participation of 200 officers on 25 May 2018, with the direction and supervision of the Colonel of the Regiment and the Adjutant General Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc.

The day’s programme was commenced with morning Physical Training, followed by a series of lectures/presentations conducted by the eminent personnel, at the Multi-Function Hall of the Officers’ Mess on several current topics. In the morning session Dr. RavimalGalappaththi, a Consultant Psychiatrist of the Army Hospital Colombo delivered an important lecture on “Good environment for a working place” and then Dr. AnojaSenevirathne the Director (Mitigation Research and Development) in Disaster Management Centre, conducted her lecture on “Mainstreaming disaster risk reduction in to development”. In the afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel ThusithaBandara USP psc SLSR a Directing Staff at the Defence Services Command and Staff College Sapugaskanda, delivered a very important lecture on “Introduction to 5 S Concept”. The training programme was concluded with a diners’ club where Professor. Amal Jayawaradane – Senior Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies, General Sir John KotelawalaDefence University, conducted the lecture on the topic of “the Rise of China: Its Global and Regional Implications.
