NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERAL DINESH UDUGAMA HONOURED IN A FELICITATION CEREMONY AT THE GAJABA REGIMENTAL CENTRE

Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a 'Felicitation Ceremony in honour of newly promoted Major General Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc on today (02) in conformity with military traditions under the guidelines of Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka National Guard, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.

The newly promoted Two-Star General was warmheartedly welcomed by the Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel Roshan Kalupahana RSP USP on his arrival to the Regimental Headquarters and greeted him with a 'Guard Turnout' at the Main Entrance upon his arrival.

Thereafter, he paid tribute to 'Father of the Gajaba Regiment 'late Major General Vijaya Wimalarathne RWP RSP VSV USP psc, by placing a floral wreath at his statue and after while, he was invited by the Centre Commandant Brigadier Wishwajith Vidyananda RWP RSP USP to receive the salute of the Colorful 'Guard of Honour' held in his respect. Thereafter, he sat for a group photograph with few council members, Centre Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Senior Officers, Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and a gathering of Officers of the Gajaba Regiment.

Reaching the climax of the day's programme an All Ranks tea was held at Other Ranks’ Mess where he had a cordial interaction with Officers and Men of the Keterians' Family, and he addressed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to Colonel of the Regiment and All Ranks of the Regimental Headquarters for arranging such a wonderful Felicitation Ceremony in his respect.

Few council members, Centre Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Senior Officers, Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers and some Other Ranks were present at the event.
