NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER, 5TH BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT ASSUMES OFFICE

Maj DSYL Kuruwita assumed office as the 14th Commanding Officer of 5th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment at an auspicious time, on 28 February 2023 amidst religious blessings at the Headquarters 5th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in HOROWPOTHANA.

The Commanding officer was warmly welcomed by the Second in Command, Major Achindha Sithara on his arrival to the camp. Then the array of day’s programme was commenced by greeting the Commanding Officer at a “Guard Turnout”. After assuming the office, he added memories by planting a sapling at the camp premises.

Further, in his troops address he informed about the future activities of the battalion and how the troops should work in cooperation. Later he attended the all ranks tea party held at Other Ranks’ mess, where he had a cordial interaction with gathering of troops.

Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, Regimental Council Members, Regimental Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their best wishes for his new appointment and his future endeavors.
