NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER, 4TH BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT ASSUMES OFFICE

Major Gayantha Niranjan RSP assumed office as the Commanding Officer of 4th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment at an auspicious time, on 01 March 2024 amidst religious blessings at the Headquarters 4th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in MADHU.

On arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was warm heartedly welcomed by the Second in command, Major Neranjan Wijebandara psc and honoured with a Guard Turnout, after a while, he was invited to accept the salute at a Colorful Ceremonial Parade commanded by Officer Commanding Support Company, Major Nirmal Kumara at the Battalion parade ground. He took over the duties by signing an official document amid religious observances. After assuming the office, he added memories by planting a sapling at the camp premises.

Further, in his troop address he gave piece of advice to all ranks pertaining to discipline and way of achieving success in their personal and military life and later he attended the all ranks tea party held at the Other Ranks‘ mess, where he had a cordial interaction with gathering of troops.

Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, Regimental Council Members, Regimental Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their best wishes for his new appointment and his future endeavors.
