NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 3RD BATTALION GAJABA REGIMENT ASSUMES OFFICE

Major Niroshan Weerakkodi RWP RSP psc assumed office as the 20th Commanding Officer of 3rd Battalion the Gajaba Regiment at an auspicious time, on 06 November 2023 amidst religious blessings at the Headquarters 3rd Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in MANKULAM.

On arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was warm heartedly welcomed by the Battalion Second in Command Major Jinendra Kumara psc on his arrival to the camp and honoured with a Guard Turnout, after while he was saluted in a colorful ceremonial parade at the Battalion parade ground and assumed duties at the auspicious time by signing an official document amidst religious blessings.

Thereafter, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling at the camp premises to mark this special occasion and that was followed by the formal troops address.

Further, in his troops address he informed about the future activities of the battalion and how the troops should work in cooperation. Later he attended the all ranks tea party held at Other Ranks‘ Mess, where he had a cordial interaction with gathering of troops.

Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their best wishes for his new appointment and all the success in his future endeavors.
