Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of Gajaba Regiment and Commando Regiment this morning (26) went to Oyamaduwa at the invitation of Mrs Needra Weerasinghe, the Director - Electronic Media, Capital Maharaja Group of Companies and Mr Sagara Palansuriya, the Chairperson, National House Development Authority and vested a new house to Mr Ravindra Saraka Samaratunge at Oyamaduwa as the first project of 'Sirasa Niwasa'.
The construction of new house for Mr Ravindra Saraka Samaratunge was enabled due to conceptual notion of Capital Maharaja Group of Companies new housing project "Sirasa Niwasa" to provide permenant houses to needy people in rural areas, following coordination done by Major General Shavendra Silva.
Gajaba Regiment troops were also supported this generous work by providing engineering expertise and labour.
Major General Shavendra Silva, on arrival was warmly welcomed by the officials of Capital Maharaja Group of Companies and National Housing Development Authority together with Colonel Mahinda Rajapaksha RWP RSP USP, the Deputy Centre Commandant, GR and Mr Ravindra Saraka Samaratunge and family the beniciaries, then cut a ribbon and warmed the house amids religious observances.
The day's Chief Guest, Major General Shavendra Silva also donated a valuable gift pack while greeting the benificiaries along with Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, the President of the Gajaba Seva Vanitha Branch.
