The Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a colorful farewell parade and dinner for 63rd Chief Of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the 13th Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment, Major General Harindra Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu on 05 June 2024. He took the Farewell Salute at the Home of Gajaba on the eve of his retirement after a distinguished and illustrious military career spanning more than 35 years to Army and to Country.
The day’s ceremony was commenced with a customary Guard Turnout followed by offering of floral tribute to late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne's statue and colourful parade. The day's event was climaxed with a farewell dinner night organized under the guidance of Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka National Guard, Lt Gen Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.
Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka National Guard Lt Gen Vikum Liyanage participated the event as the Guest of Honour. Members of the Regimental Council, Centre Commandant, Deputy Centre Commandant, Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and all the staff officers of the Regimental Headquarters were present at this ceremony.
