The Gajaba Regiment Officers’ training day for the first quarter of the year was held on Wednesday (21 March ) at the Regimental Centre under the guidance of Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu and with the close supervision of Centre Commandant Brigadier Aruna Wijekoon USP ndc.
The day's proceeding commenced with morning physical training for all Officers. Pertinent and essential presentations from the guest lecturers were conducted during morning and afternoon sessions. Day’s first lecture was conducted on the topic of “Ukraine-Russia Conflict, Terrorism's Global Tentacles and The Second lecture was conducted on the topic of “ China- Taiwan Issue, Belt and Road Initiative and its Impact on 21st Century World Order ” by Guest speaker Mr Vijaya Disanayake – Director Sports at Sri Lanka Rupavahini (TV) Corporation.
Breaking the monotony of the day, participants got the opportunity to witness the theoretical lecture and practical sessions of using of fire extinguishers by the instructors of fire brigade Anuradhapura. The evening session commenced with the recreation with participation of all Officers playing Cricket, Badminton, Basketball and Volleyball.
The Diners' Club was held on “Winding Unipolar Moment and the New Normal in Geopolitics.” to enlighten the officers' knowledge on the subject area by Guest speaker Mr Vijaya Disanayake – Director Sports at Sri Lanka Rupavahini (TV) Corporation. The training day was culminated with the interactive session with all officers and guest speaker.
