Kandy St. Sylvesters Secures Herman Loos Championship Trophy - Major General S W L Daulagala RSP USP ndu participated as the chief guest
A felicitation ceremony in honour of the St Sylvester\'s College Cadet platoon was held on 01 December 2014 with the gracious presence of Major General S W L Daulagala Colonel of the Regiment Gajaba Regiment. The College Cadet platoon has shown an exceptional performance securing the overall championship at Rantambe National Cadet Corps Training Centre. Further, the College Western Band and the Navy National Cadet Corps team have become the first.\r\n\r\nAt the ceremony held at the College Auditorium, all those who made their effort to achieve excellence were honored. The Chief Guest of the ceremony Major General Lalith Daulagala was warmly welcomed by the Principle Mr. T R S Meethiyagoda and ushered to the Auditorium accorded by an elegant procession. The Chief Guest also took time to pay his tribute to the College Monument after which the proceedings of the day were auspiciously commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp followed by National and College Anthems. \r\n\r\nInvestiture of medals was accomplished by Major General Lalith Daulagala and certificates to the College Cadet platoon and Western Band were given away. College Navy Cadet platoon was given away their certificates by a senior Navy Officer Captain Pieris.\r\n\r\n In achieving the excellence of this nature, immense contribution has been extended by Drill Instructor Warrant Officer 11 Adhikari A M G and Drill Instructor Master Chief E M Senadeera to the College.\r\n\r\nThe ceremony was attended by Teachers , all students, Old Boys and parents.\r\n
