GALLANTRY AWARDS CEREMONY FOR WAR HEROES OF THE GAJABA REGIMENT
Total number of 876 War Heroes of the Gajaba Regiment were received Rana Wickrama Padakkama (RWP) and Rana Sura Padakkama (RSP ) on 15 November 2016 at the Regimental Center the Gajaba Regiment, Saliyapura.
The ceremony was hosted by the Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen GVDUA Perera RWP RSP VSV USP USAWC psc and also Maj Gen LHSC Silva WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Maj Gen CP Gallage WWV RWP RSP USP USAWC, Maj Gen NA Dharmarathne WWV RWP RSP ndu psc and Maj Gen AWMAWN Ranawana RWP RSP ndc psc were participated. Among the recipients 765 Officers and Other Rankers were in active service, 70 were retired and 41 Officers and Other Rankers who sacrificed their lives to the nation were received by their family members.
Apart from that 04 families belong to the Officers and Other Rankers who made supreme scarified to the nation and received Parama Weera Vibushanaya (PWV) also invited by the Gajaba Regiment for this occasion.
