A contingent of 34 officers and 101 other ranks from the Sri Lanka Armed Forces including 13 x Officers and 75 x Soldiers from the Gajaba Regiment returned to the island on 22 November 2025 after successfully completing the Mitra Shakti Exercise XI. This joint military training programme, conducted between the Sri Lanka Army and the Indian Army, was held from 10 to 22 November 2025 at the Foreign Training Node (FTN) in Belagavi, Karnataka, India.
The exercise served as an effective platform for sharing knowledge and technology, strengthening military cooperation, fostering cultural understanding and enhancing camaraderie between the two Armies.
