The Gajaba Regimental Centre hosted a vibrant Farewell Parade and Dinner Night on 04 May 2025 in honour of Major General Lakshan De Silva RSP USP nps psc, marking the conclusion of his distinguished military career spanning over 34 years.
The ceremony commenced with a customary Guard Turnout, followed by a floral tribute at the statue of the late Major General Vijaya Wimalarathne RWP RSP VSV USP psc. The retiring veteran Keterian was then honoured with a colourful parade at the regimental parade ground, recognizing his dedicated and outstanding service to the Gajaba Regiment. Following the parade, an All Ranks tea was held, where he engaged in warm and friendly conversations with those in attendance.
The farewell events concluded with a grand Farewell Dinner Night at the Officers’ Mess. The Colonel of Regiment, Members of the Regimental Council, executive members of the Gajaba Seva Vanitha Branch, the Centre Commandant, Senior Officers and Officers along with their spouses participated in the event to pay tribute to the legacy of the outgoing Senior Officer.
The Colonel of the Regiment, the Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, the Centre Commandant, and all Staff Officers extend their sincere gratitude to the esteemed Keterian, Major General Lakshan De Silva (Retd) RSP USP nps psc, for his exemplary service to the nation and the regiment, and convey their best wishes on his retirement.
