The Gajaba Regiment felicitated the newly appointed Chief of Staff Major General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Regimental Centre today. The Chief of Staff was received by the Centre Commandant, when he made his formal maiden visit to the Regimental Centre after assuming duties as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army. The Chief of Staff was warmly welcomed by the Council Members who were present at the occasion.
Subsequently, the Chief of Staff paid his tribute to the statue of the founder father of the Gajaba Regiment Late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc by placing a floral wreath. The Chief of Staff received the salute of the Guard of Honour presented by the Gajaba Troops. He planted a sapling to mark his formal maiden visit to the “Home of Gajaba” after being the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.
Council Members, Senior Officers of the Regiment, Centre Commandant and the Regimental Staff took part in this official event.
