Celebration of Sinhala Hindu New Year Festival 2018 and Gajaba Avurudu Pola at Home of Gajaba

As per the directions of the Colonel of the Regiment, the Sinhala Hindu New Year Festival 2018 and Gajaba Avurudu Pola was held on 07 and 08 April 2018, at the Gajaba Regimental Centre

All Avurudu Rituals including bicycle race, marathon, avurudu games and traditional/cultural events were also taken place on 08 April 2018. The Colonel of the Regiment, the Gajaba Regiment and the Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and he declared open the Avurudu Pola after lighting the traditional oil lamp. Mrs. Sujeewa Nelson the President of the Gajaba Sewavanitha branch was also attended with it's members. Senior Officers, the Regimental Staff and all ranks were participated in this grand event. "The Gajaba Soorya Mangalyaya" was followed by a colorful musical night performed by Sri Lanka Army band with popular artists
